The U.S. Department of Education has released a report detailing the education reform marks missed by Hawaii during the first year of its four-year, $75 million "Race to the Top" grant.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that while Hawaii missed "the majority" of those milestones, Education Secretary Arne Duncan commended the state for reaching a tentative agreement with the Hawaii State Teachers Association, saying the agreement with the union "will play a critical role in making Hawaii's education reforms possible."
